Sustainability Matters

Bamboo has a positive impact on global environmental concerns such as water scarcity, deforestation, soil erosion and the greenhouse effect. Bamboo is a by far more sustainable textile than cotton available to help create a better world.

  • Grown Organically: Bamboo can be grown without the use of pesticides, which together with other factors such as fast growing rate and low water consumption makes it a sustainable raw material for textiles.

  • No Artificial Irrigation: Compared to other plantations, bamboo uses only 1/3 of the water. It does not need any artificial irrigation system. Rainwater alone is efficient enough and all water used in the production process is recycled and reused.

  • No Artificial Irrigration: Bamboo grass absorbs five time more CO2 from the air than the equivalent amount of hardwood trees. It’s been also reported that compared to an equivalent stand of trees, Bamboo is removing this green house gas from the atmosphere, and produces 35 percent more oxygen than trees.

  • Improving Air Quality: Bamboo grass absorbs five time more CO2 from the air than the equivalent amount of hardwood trees. It’s been also reported that compared to an equivalent stand of trees, Bamboo is removing this green house gas from the atmosphere, and produces 35 percent more oxygen than trees.
  • Fast Growing, Regenerating: Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants in the world. It can grow to its full height in three months and then be ready to harvest in three to four years as its thickness fills out.

Do you know that?

  • The entire plant is never harvested and re-growth occurs naturally and rapidly. Bamboo, as a natural cellulose fiber, is biodegradable in soil by microorganisms and sunshine.
  • Bamboo grass absorbs five time more CO2 from the air than the equivalent amount of hardwood trees. Not only that, two thirds of the carbon is stored in the soil and root system.

  • It isn’t dug up when the bamboo is harvested so the carbon stays in the ground. Bamboo also releases 35% more oxygen than its hardwood tree equivalent.

Happy & Healthy

Bamboo is hypoallergenic, which means that it does not trigger any allergic reactions. This unique property of bamboo is particularly welcome for those who have sensitive skin or suffer from allergies.

  • Anti-Bacterial & Anti-Fungal: Bamboo contains an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal bio-agent which is retained through the process of fabrication and after washing. This property also makes our Turbans odor-resistant. The bamboo tree actually contains anti-bacterial substances as the tree trunk uses it in order to protect itself against insect attacks and fungus. That means the textiles have natural anti-bacterial features.
  • Breathable & Moisture-Wicking: The structure of the bamboo fibres contains micro-gaps, which provide ventilation and evaporates moisture that causes bacteria to multiply. Studies have shown that bamboo clothing is breathable and its moisture wicking properties help keep your body fresh and dry.
  • Hypoallergenic:  Particularly suitable for eczema sufferers and those with extra sensitive skin. Our bamboo fabric is extremely smooth and soft. It is also OEKO-Tex100 certified which means it is free from harmful chemicals and residues. People with skin sensitivities report that our bamboo clothing does not irritate their skin like most other fabrics. Bamboo is also naturally hypoallergenic.

Thermoregulating

Regulates to you - feel warm on winter days and cool when it's hot. Bamboo fibre is naturally breathable because of its structure. Advantage of clothing made with bamboo is its excellent insulation ability. Bamboo-based apparel is a great lightweight insulating layer that helps regulate body temperature. This means bamboo clothing is great in any season, keeping you cool in the heat, and warm in the cold. It adjusts to your body temperature.

  • Anti-StaticA neutral charge prevents static build-up, preventing clinging. Bamboo apparel is very comfortable. Bamboo fabric is anti-static so it doesn’t cling. It is often described as having the “ultra softness of cashmere and the sheen (luster) of silk.”

Silky Soft

Another great advantage is the unparalleled softness of bamboo textiles and the excellent comfort offered. The smooth and round structure of the bamboo fibre is the secret behind this fantastic property, as is its absorbency. This structure has no sharp or rough elements that irritate the skin and therefore feels wonderfully soft against the skin.
  • Organically-grown bamboo is soft, like super soft. It will feel light and gentle on your skin.
  • Our bamboo clothing is light and comfortable to wear.

 Care For Your Bamboo Clothes:

Bamboo fabrics will maintain their special qualities when washed in cold to warm water (up to 40 degrees Celsius) with a gentle detergent, free of bleach. You may want to use a gentle cycle for some finished garments and fabric types. If necessary, bamboo fabrics can be dried in a clothes dryer on the cool setting.
We recommend washing rather than dry cleaning for our Bamboo and or hemp fabrics. Use the gentle wash cycle or hand wash and use a good brand of gentle soap powder or liquid. We recommend that you don't use bleach, Chlorine bleaches often cause yellowing.
If hand washing, rinse well to help prevent staining caused by oxidation of cellulose by the leftover soap build-up.
Line drying in the sun is best, if possible. Bamboo clothing can go in the dryer. Sometimes it makes sense to air dry things for 20 or 30 minutes and then lay them out flat to dry the rest of the way. Other people prefer to line dry the whole way.
Ironing hemp is a great deal easier if you do it when the hemp is slightly damp.
Dampen the hemp first and see how you go.
